Man answers door, gets stabbed with kitchen knife in Tenderloin

A 62-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly knocked on someone’s door in the Tenderloin and stabbed the man who answered.

The 57-year-old tenant of the apartment near Turk and Mason streets struggled with the attacker after he opened the door around 2:48 a.m. His forearm was punctured with a kitchen knife, but he was still able to restrain the man until police arrived.

The wounded man refused to be taken to the hospital, police said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
