Man accused of terrorizing ex-wife, kids on Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay sentenced

The nut accused of trying to run his ex-wife and kids off a Half Moon Bay highway with his car last month was sentenced to 10 days of county jail and two years court probation Monday, prosecutors said.

Saul Garcia Montelongo, 28, of Half Moon Bay, pleaded no contest to violating a restraining order in connection with the Dec. 28 road rage incident.

He was ordered to have no contact with his ex-wife.

The ex-wife claims Montelongo followed her as she was driving with her children. He attempted to force his family off the road as they were driving on state Highway 1 at San Mateo Road, she said.

At the same time as this case, Montelongo was facing charges in a separate case involving a violation of a family court order, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

That case was dismissed following his plea Monday, Wagstaffe said.
