Man, 24, critically injured after shot in head in San Mateo County 

A 24-year-old man is in critical condition this morning after suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the head in unincorporated San Mateo County, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a home in the 300 block of San Carlos Avenue around 2:30 a.m. this morning. Deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, according to sheriff’s officials.

The man received treatment at the scene by emergency medical personnel and then was taken to Stanford Hospital. He was listed in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
