Mall employee robbed in Westfield Centre bathroom

A woman who works in the Westfield Centre mall was robbed by another woman Saturday in a public bathroom, police said Monday.

The 29-year-old victim was in the bathroom at the mall in the 800 block of Market Street about 11 a.m. when she put down her bag that contained her cellphone and wallet, police said.

Another woman in the bathroom then pushed the victim away from the bag and took the cellphone and cash out of it and fled, police said.

The victim chased after the suspect, police said, but encountered by a man standing outside the restroom door who stopped the victim and said, “Get out of here, bitch, she don’t have nothing.”

The man and woman then just walked out of the mall, police said.

Detailed descriptions of the man and woman were not provided, and no arrests were made.
