Lowell trio combines to no-hit Wallenberg

Seniors James Burke, Tomas Sanchez and Matt Ng combined on a five-inning no-hitter as Lowell beat Wallenberg 10-0 Monday in an Academic Athletic Association basebabll game.

Burke (2-0) pitched the first three innings and came the closest to surrendering the only hit by Wallenberg. After striking out the first two batters of the third, Dherain Patel hit a sharp grounder that Lowell shortstop Max Newman backhanded. The throw pulled first baseman Elan Lavie off the bag slightly and Patel was safe. The play was called an error.

Senior co-captain Joe Bien-Kahn went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs for the Cardinals (20-9, 11-1 AAA), who scored four runs in the third and four more in the fourth.

Lowell 10, Wallenberg 0
