Lindsay Lohan lending political clout to Brazilian candidate

Lindsay Lohan wears many hats: actress, courtroom benchwarmer, designer of fine leggings. Now, she has a new chapeau: Brazilian political analyst.

Lohan started the quente bagunca (hot mess in Portuguese) on Tuesday when she tweeted, "I support @aecioNeves, for presidential candidature. His platform brings positive changes in Brazil," giving digital props to Brazilian economist and politician Aecio Neves.

It's possible LiLo is a big fan of Neves' economic liberalization policy and ambitious road-paving program, or is genuinely concerned about a nation where 21.4 percent of the population is below the poverty line.

Media outlets, however, think she just wants to party.

TMZ pointed out Wednesday that Neves has been accused of being a fan of the nose candy for years, most recently when a helicopter owned by Neves' agriculture company was seized by the government "because it was carrying 4.5 TONS of cocaine."

Keep an eye out for a Neves-Lohan ticket in 2018.

FOOD NETWORK SEEKS COOKS

Are you a good cook? Are your cupcakes the best in town? Do Coi and Saison restaurants have spies outside your door, hoping to kidnap you into culinary servitude? Food Network chefs are coming to San Francisco to seek kitchen maestros for "Home Cooks," an upcoming competition show with big cash prizes.

The open casting call is set for 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cheese School (2124 Folsom St., S.F.). Show producers are asking all contestant hopefuls to bring a completed application (available at www.homecookscasting.com) and a recent photo of yourself (so not your OKCupid profile picture) as well as a savory dish.

"It should be visually appealing AND delicious," the producers warn on their website, so leave that marshmallow-studded Jell-O mold at home.

QUICK TAKES

Tina Fey paid tribute to late "Saturday Night Live" actress Jan Hooks and took a swipe at Pacifica native Rob Schneider at Elle's Women in Hollywood event, saying, "Jan deserved a big movie career. Certainly as big as Rob Schneider's f---ing career. She was a bigger star on 'SNL.'" ... "Goodfellas" actor Frank Sivero is suing "The Simpsons" for $250 million, saying the character Louie, a mobster who debuted in a 1991 episode, is modeled on him.
