Lincoln Park reopening Friday

All you Richmond playground aficionados can start your weekend with the grand reopening of Lincoln Park Playground -- the one at 33rd Avenue and Clement Street that closed a little less than a year ago.

Supervisor Eric Mar is on the guest list.

The event starts at 4 p.m. on Friday at the playground that used to attract “nighttime loitering, frequent graffiti and dumping’,’ according to the nonprofit San Francisco Parks Trust.

It also failed the nonprofit Neighborhood Parks Council’s safety report card in 2008.

Now it has new furnishings, an upgraded play area, an irrigation system and some park-like landscaping.

Here’s a picture of some of the Sutro Baths-inspired tile-work that’s been going on at the Parks Trust Web site.

And here’s information about the reopening.
