Lights go out in SoMa area

Nearly 2,400 San Francisco customers were without power for 30 minutes Thursday afternoon following an outage in the South of Market neighborhood.

The outage was first reported at 11:45 a.m. and  Pacific Gas and Electric workers restored power by 12:18 a.m., according to company spokesman Joe Molica.

Company crews are on the scene to determine what happened, but so far the problem doesn’t seem to be related to any equipment malfunctions, Molica said.

The outage occurred at an overheard circuit at Harrison Street, so crews will not have to go underground to assess the situation, Molica said.
