Lick-Wilmerding High School was evacuated this afternoon after authorities received word of a possible bomb threat.
San Francisco police were notified of the possible bomb threat at the private school at 12:42 p.m., Officer Grace Gatpandan said. Gatpandan did not know whether the threat was in the form of a note or phone call.
The bomb squad and K-9 units responded to the school, located at 755 Ocean Ave., and were continuing to search the school as of 3 p.m.
Students were evacuated to nearby City College of San Francisco, where a command post was set up, Gatpandan said.
