Lennar shipyard deal to go under microscope

A controversial financial deal related to the proposed redevelopment of the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard will be the subject of a City Hall hearing on Thursday.

The Planning Commission will hold an informational hearing into the project’s disposition and development agreement between the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency and CP Development Co., which is a joint venture between Lennar Corp., Scala Real Estate Partners, Estein and Associates and Hillwood.

Under the deal, The City will transfer the land to the developers. The developers will lay infrastructure at the massive site before transferring streets and other public assets to San Francisco and selling lots to builders for development of more than 10,000 homes and other buildings.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 400 at City Hall.
