Lending your cell phone on the street is a mistake

Don’t lend your cell phone to thugs.

An 18-year-old man found this out the hard way on Friday, cops said.

The young man was approached around 11 p.m. at Seventh and Mission streets by a 20-year-old man who asked to use the younger man’s phone, police said.

The victim turned over his phone and the suspect began walking away with it, cops said.

The victim followed and asked for his phone back. The thief said he would hurt the victim if he continued following, police said.

The suspect fled but was subsequently arrested, cops said.
