Legislation aims to crack down on stores selling smoking devices

Legislation from Board of Supervisors president David Chiu would crack down on the growth of stores on Polk Street that sell pipes, bongs and other devices used for smoking. If passed, city approval would be needed for any paraphernalia establishments to open in the Polk Street Neighborhood Commercial District during a one-year trial period. The proposal is slated to go to committee today.
