Lanes close for Doyle Drive rebuild project

Drivers crossing Doyle Drive this weekend will encounter fewer lanes due to work on part of an interchange.

Between 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, according to Presidio Parkway project officials.

The closure is needed so work can be done on the Highway 1 and U.S. 101 interchange.

Doyle Drive, the 1.5-mile stretch of the southern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge, is undergoing a massive replacement.

More than 100,000 vehicles use the roadway, which is structurally and seismically deficient, every weekday.
