LA police end landfill search for murder gun

Los Angeles police have spent a second day searching an Agoura Hills landfill for the gun used in the shooting death of a high school soccer player, but no weapon was found.

Officer Gregory Baek says the search ended Thursday and will not be resumed.

About 30 people, including detectives and volunteers, have been digging through 300 to 400 tons of trash for a gun they believe was dumped in trash after the Jan. 11 shooting of Francisco Rodriguez.

The popular El Camino Real High School student was lured from his home and shot in his front yard.

Nineteen-year-old Elizabeth Ibarra and 24-year-old Jason Schumann were arrested a few days later. Schumann is charged with murder.
