Kudos: Performers shake things up for cure

There probably are less eye-popping methods of gaining attention for a good cause. But on Saturday at the Half Moon Bay Farmers Market, a rather unusual display will take place at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. The Sol Studio Student Performers will put on a tribal fusion belly dance, with all tips and proceeds going to Ariana’s Cure, a nonprofit seeking a cure for the devastating bone affliction Morquio Disease. Morquio is a progressive genetic disorder that stunts growth and causes severe skeletal disorders in young children, putting most of its victims in wheelchairs by age 10.

So come view some exotic shimmy-shaking, then shake some dough from your pockets for this special cause. The market is at Shoreline Station, at the corner of Highway 1 and Kelly Avenue. For more information, visit www.arianascure.com.
