Kudos: Marin company wins award for children’s DVD set

Chipper is a devilishly cute little cartoon squirrel out to explore his surrounding wilderness, complete with backpack and hiking boots.

He stumbles into all sorts of mischief before being guided back onto the right trail by all sorts of creatures in the Marin-based IAG Media's teaching-through-nature DVD activity set “Into the Great Outdoors."

The DVD, CD and activity book collection recently won an iParenting Media Outstanding Product Award, which recognizes the best in programming and products for children.

“Chipper is our conscientious ambassador for good behavior in children zero to six," explains Stephanie Rach, co-founder of the family-focused IAG. She adds, “Music, mishap and adventure help kids learn through Chipper's experiences about how to behave in everyday situations."

The DVD also features live-action footage shot by Bay Area naturalist Doug McConnell, with an ultimate goal of putting children on an ecologically-aware path as soon as possible. It's never too soon to go green, says IAG, which adds that product also boasts ecologically sensitive packaging. The set sells for $24.95. To order, visit www.intothegreatoutdoors.com.
