Kudos: Get ready to get marching for San Francisco AIDS Walk 2008

Thousands of participants are expected in Golden Gate Park’s Sharon Meadow on Sunday for AIDS Walk San Francisco. Since 1987, the event has raised nearly $65 million for HIV programs and services in the Bay Area and has been an amazing example of cost-effective fundraising and extraordinary community activism.

In 2007, 25,000 participants, many of whom were members of more than 800 corporate and community teams, raised a record sum of $4.6 million for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and 42 Bay Area HIV/AIDS organizations.

The 6.2-mile course takes between two and three hours to complete. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m., the walk starts at 10:30 a.m. and post-walk festivities, featuring fun stuff for kids, are at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.aidswalk.net.
