Kudos: Career Fair explores options for underrepresented law students

The 2008 San Francisco Legal Diversity Career Fair, taking place Thursday in San Francisco, is part of an initiative aiming to increase the presence of minority, women and gay and lesbian attorneys in The City’s law firms and corporations.

Presented by  Vault.com Inc. — a media company focusing on career-building — and the Minority Corporate Council Association, the fair’s goal is to expose traditionally underrepresented law students and laterals to career opportunities. Hiring partners, recruiting managers and corporate-diversity committee members will be on hand, offering insiders’ perspectives on diversity-best practice and to advise minority, women and LGBT law students and associates on legal career options.

Among the guest speakers is Ruthe Ashley, president of California A.L.L. (Aspire-Learn-Lead), a nonprofit organization promoting diversity initiatives.

The fair runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Palace Hotel, 2 New Montgomery St. For more information, visit
