Achievement The fine artist started hula-hooping again at age 30 after what she calls “20 years of being out of the loop.” In 2005, she started World Hoop Day in an effort to get a national holiday set up to hoop for peace. The event has blossomed into a charity through which hoop dancers give custom-made hula hoops to disadvantaged kids worldwide. Locally, the fun happens on Treasure Island today from 1 to 9 p.m. For details, visit www.worldhoopday.com.
