Know someone who could tell Rec and Park how to spend $5 million?

There is $5 million worth of bond money that is supposed to be spent on fixing major eyesores in open spaces.

And now it’s time to start creating a committee to figure out which blemishes need it the most with a $250,000 limit out of the community opportunity fund.

Rec and Park is looking for a seven-person committee to organize the money.

Nominations are due July 16, and applicants will have to agree to a two-year term commitment to attend four or five mandatory meetings at the end of the year.

Then, anyone who wants to apply to use the grant money for a project in their neighborhood has to submit an application by September 24.
