Knife-wielding thieves leave man with bloody nose near UN Plaza

Thieves armed with knives robbed a pair of men near UN Plaza in the early morning hours of Wednesday, police said.

Two men in their mid-to-late 20’s were near Leavenworth and McAllister streets around 2:30 a.m. when they were approached by three men.

Two of the men then pulled out knives and demanded property. The third thief punched one of the men in the face while telling him to hand over his goods.

They got away with two cell phones, a wallet with cash in it and a backpack before police arrived.

The man who was punched had a bloody nose but refused to be taken to the hospital. His injury was not life-threatening.

Police said two of the thieves appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old, while the third was around 30 to 35 years old.
