Killers ready to kick off their ‘Boots’ for the holidays

It might appear that Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has skewed off on his own ornate tangent via his new solo set “Flamingo” and recent tour. But no, he swears, the vaunted Vegas act is only on hiatus, and certainly not planning on letting any of its traditions die.

Like their annual Christmas single, for instance. This week, The Killers just digitally released the fifth in said series, “Boots.” So they won’t be MIA for long.

And it’s no coincidence that the song — and its accompanying video, directed by filmdom’s eccentric Jared Hess — premiered on World AIDS Day.

The track is released in conjunction with (RED) for its campaign to combat AIDS in Africa, with proceeds going toward its hard-working Global Fund. So it’s a great way to get in the holiday spirit, both mentally and spiritually.

The “Boots” clip is up at Starbucks.com/Share.
