Junk pyro trashes San Francisco garbage can

An accused pyro with an apparent ax to grind against city garbage cans was busted by cops Thursday morning, police said.

A cop said he saw the 18-year-old man standing next to a city garbage can that had been set ablaze in the 1200 block of Mission Street around 4 a.m. When the suspect saw the officer, he tried to make a run for it but was captured and arrested, police said.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, police said.

No one was injured.
