Junior has a new look

Dale Earnhardt Jr. lost his No. 8 when he said he will leave Dale Earnhardt Inc. for Hendrick Motorsports following the NASCAR Nextel Cup season. So he just added an eight. Junior unveiled his new cars for next season, sporting a No. 88. He also has two new primary sponsors — Mountain Dew Amp Energy drink and the National Guard. Amp Engery is produced by Pepsi. The No. 88 belonged to Robert Yates Racing, but was easily handed over to Hendrick. "Ralph Earnhardt drove the No. 88 Olds in 1957 and because of this number’s history with the Earnhardt family, I felt car No. 88 should continue with Dale Earnhardt Jr.," Robert Yates said in a statement. Rick Hendrick said he had no problems lining up sponsors for Junior. "I got phone calls from so many companies, some of them in the sport that I never talked to and some of them I had no idea even had any interest in the sport," Hendrick said.
