Job Posting of the Week: Trout editor

I always felt there was something fishy about clams that journalism was underwater, and now, I think all the hysterics are all wet. From JournalismJobs, an opportunity to be a big fish in a small pond:

Trout Unlimited, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of trout and salmon, is looking for an assistant editor for the award-winning quarterly magazine, Trout. The ideal candidate will be a college graduate with a degree in print journalism or English (or emphasis in those fields). One year magazine or newspaper editing or reporting experience preferred. Knowledge of AP stylebook required. Interest in and passion for the outdoors and conservation is helpful. The assistant editor is a full-time position based in Arlington, Va., at TU’s national office. The position reports to the Trout editor and supervises no staff.

I was hooked on the line “reports to the Trout editor.” I’m thinking of applying just for the halibut, but I don’t think a job of this scale is right for me — not that I’m being koi. But perhaps this one will fly. I just don’t want to flounder in my career, and I’m angling to move upstream. Not too far upstream, mind you. Apply here.
