Jeremy and A. Jay Popoff offer online samples of new material from Lit

You might have forgotten about them. But they haven’t forgotten you.

Brothers Jeremy and A. Jay Popoff of the once chart-topping outfit Lit (remember “My Own Worst Enemy”? Sure you do!) have returned from the wilderness with a new album. Produced by studio vet Matt Wallace, the record will reportedly be released later this year.

But the band isn’t keeping their comeback under code-of-music-biz-silence wraps.

Lit has just launched a new website, where — first of all — they’re offering a free download of a 2011 rerecording of their 2000 nugget “Miserable.” They’re also offering a cool sneak peek at the upcoming effort via “You Tonight,” a demo/video they’ve posted of one of its tracks. It’s still in rough, unmastered form, but the brothers don’t care — they want to get news of their return out there as fast as digitally possible.

Coupled with their part ownership in a Fullerton eatery called The Slidebar Rock ’N’ Roll Kitchen, it looks like it will be a year to remember for the Popoffs.
