Jane’s Addiction to play Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco

You’d think Perry Farrell’s freshly reinvigorated quartet Jane’s Addiction would want to take a breather from last Friday’s performance at the 7th Annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit, honoring Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan and Vans Warped Tour co-founder Kevin Lyman.

But no, he and bandmates Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney are flying into San Francisco on Tuesday, for a private performance for the Google I/O Developer Conference at Moscone Center West.

Only it’s actually not so private.

The Jane’s Addiction after-show party — bolstered by Bay Area DJs Mark Farina and Miguel Migs — will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, and will be streamed live for all to see by Google themselves.

Yet another digital-age gift from this generous band, who’ve already offered “End To The Lies” — from their forthcoming “The Great Escape Artist” album on Capitol — as a free download at www.janesaddiction.com.

The Rich Costey-produced record will hit stores this August, but you can hear some of its songs, live, Tuesday. No Google ID badge required!
