  • DeSean Jackson won’t be leaving the NFC East, as he signed with the Redskins after the Eagles released him.
Free-agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson finalized a three-year, $24 million contract Wednesday that includes $16 million guaranteed with the Washington Redskins. Jackson, who played at Cal before entering the NFL, was released by the Philadelphia Eagles last week despite coming off his best season of 82 catches, 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns.

“I feel [the Redskins] embraced me,” Jackson said. “RG3, DeAngelo Hall reached out to me and made it feel like it was home. After everything that was going on the past couple of days, and the last week, that’s a big step.”

The 49ers and Raiders were rumored to have interest in Jackson.

49ers, Raiders at Clowney pro day: Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie took in South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney’s pro day firsthand. Many view Clowney as the most talented player in the draft. The Raiders own the No. 5 overall pick in the draft, which starts May 8. The 49ers also had a representative at Clowney’s workout, though they would likely have to trade way up from their No. 30 spot to draft him.

Steelers sign Heyward-Bey: The Pittsburgh Steelers and free-agent wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey agreed to terms on a 1-year contract. Heyward-Bey caught 29 passes with the Indianapolis Colts last season. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders.
