Jackson, Waldorf tie for third

Junior Martin Jackson came off the bench to score 31 points as host Waldorf turned back Gateway 65-60 in a Bay Counties League Central boys’ basketball game Monday. The result left the teams tied for third place at 5-5 entering Wednesday’s playoffs.

Jackson had 18 points in the first half and then made 3-pointers on each of Waldorf’s first two possessions after the intermission to put the Wolverines up by double-digits.

"I started all the seniors today, and maybe [Jackson] was angry about coming off the bench," Waldorf coach Aragorn Healy said with a laugh. "That’s the best he’s shot all year, and he gave us a ton of energy."
