Infant boy killed in East Palo Alto triple shooting

A three-month-old boy was killed and his mother and father wounded in a shooting early this morning in East Palo Alto, police said.

Acting Capt. Jeff Liu said the Redwood City couple had been attending a baby shower in the 400 block of Wisteria Drive with their two sons, ages three and three months old.

The family left the celebration at about 12:50 a.m. and were in their car when two unidentified men wearing dark clothing fired shots into the vehicle, Liu said. Both parents and the three-month-old boy were hit and rushed to Stanford Hospital.

The infant boy, who had been struck in the head, was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m., Liu said. His parents, both 22 years old, are expected to survive. Their names were not immediately released.

No arrests have been made, but police are hoping to release sketches of the suspects, as well as information about a reward leading to an arrest and conviction in the case, this afternoon.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact East Palo Alto police by phone or text message at (650) 409-6792, or by emailing
