In-line skating rink in front of City Hall?

There might be an ice skating rink or even a year-round in-line skating rink in City Hall’s front yard this winter.

United Skates of America has made a proposal at the request of the Recreation and Park Department to utilize the space on Larkin Street in the Joseph L. Alioto Performing Arts Piazza.

Rec and Park Commissioners will hear about the proposal and possibly approve the plan at their regular meeting Thursday.

But lately, they’ve been questioning whether using the space would conflict with other events such as the Pride Parade, which traditionally ends at Civic Center Plaza.
