Howard Avenue crossing to be closed this weekend

The railroad grade crossing at Howard Avenue in Burlingame will be closed from Friday to Monday as part of a yearlong project to reconstruct station platforms, Caltrain has announced.

The northbound track will be closed so crews can install new concrete pads and replace worn rails, ties and ballast. The track and street will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Caltrain passengers will use the southbound platform to board both northbound and southbound trains at the Burlingame and San Mateo stations.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to detour around the closure by using Baywater Avenue, according to Caltrain.
