How should Rec and Park assess its trees?

An assessment presented earlier this year prioritized how Rec and Park should address hazardous trees in open spaces, with trees in Golden Gate Park in their own category and at the top of the list.

However, tonight, an open space advisory committee is reviewing the newest report that lays out how to spend $4 million of bond funds and possibly recommending it to the Rec and Park Commission.

It’s a $4 million tree management plan that this time makes suggestions about using $3.5 million to pay the equivalent of 30 full-time employees to reforest thousands of trees.

The meeting’s tonight at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall in Room 278.
