House Dem polls in the high 30s

I know the headline is a bit “dog bites man,” but PPP’s new poll for Daily Kos in Wisconsin’s 8th District illustrates the difficulty that many Democrats are having this year. Two-term Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Wisc., is posting a pathetic 37 percent and trailing his GOP opponent. As NRO’s Jim Geraghty might say, he’s in Corzine country.

Look farther down the page and you’ll see that 54 percent of the district’s voters disapprove of President Obama and 60 percent disapprove of Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle. The Green Bay district, once held by Rep. Mark Green, R, flipped in 2006 when Greene left it to run against Doyle for governor.

Kagen, whose antics seemed outlandish before Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., came along, seemed quite safe just a few months ago. But at this point, the entire state is in danger of turning Red.
