Hot topics for travel association conference 

Dealing with political and economic issues will be at the forefront of the state’s travel industry’s annual conference, which gets under way Monday in The City.

The three-day California Travel Industry Association’s 28th annual Conference on Tourism will focus dealing with the furor created by Arizona’s controversial new immigration law and attracting tourists who are watching every penny.

Roger Selbert, a demographic trend specialist, will deliver the keynote address at 3 p.m. at the Parc 55 Hotel, 55 Cyril Magnin St.
