A hot dog vendor was robbed and assaulted by three men in the Mission on Saturday, police said Monday.

The 48-year-old victim was selling hot dogs at 16th and Valencia streets about 2:40 a.m. when three men approached and helped themselves to some hot dogs.

The vendor approached the men about payment for the food when one of the men punched him in the face, police said. The victim fell to the ground and the rest of the suspects kept punching and kicking him.

The suspects also went through the victim's pockets looking for cash before fleeing the scene in a 4-door gray vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

The suspects were described as men, one looked to be about 19, another about 30 and the third was in his 20s, police said. No arrests have been made.
