Hospital benefit seeks heart art

The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation is accepting submissions for its annual “Hearts in San Francisco” public art and fundraising project.

Selected small works will be auctioned during the 2011 Heroes & Hearts luncheon, with proceeds benefiting efforts to enhance patient care. In addition, large works will be displayed in Union Square.

Submissions for large hearts should measure 5 feet tall, 5 feet 9 inches wide and 3 feet 3 inches deep. Tabletop-size hearts must be 14 inches tall, 17 inches wide and 8 inches deep.

Submissions, which must include an application form and a full-color design rendering, are due by Aug. 25. Chosen artists must complete their pieces by Nov. 1. For details, visit www.sfghf.net.
