Hoodlums help themselves to 30 cartons of cigarettes in San Francisco heist 

A couple hoodlums helped themselves to 30 cartons of cigarettes, two men were robbed in separate incidents and a transient was in the wrong place at the wrong time Wednesday, cops said.

3000 block of San Jose Avenue
6:20 p.m.

Two men in their 30s walked into a store and helped themselves to 30 cartons of cigarettes, police said. The 26-year-old clerk tried to stop them but was pushed aside and the crooks fled in a stolen Buick Century. Cops spotted the vehicle and pulled it over but only one of the suspects was inside. Not quite a lucky strike.

1000 block of Fillmore
4:40 p.m.

A 22-year-old man riding his skateboard was abruptly stopped by three thugs in their 20s, cops said. The skater was thrown to the ground and the three bandits grabbed his cash and fled.

Ninth Avenue and Lake Street
7:45 p.m.

Cops arrived to the scene of a city trash can on fire, they said. When they got there the fire was out. They asked a nearby transient about the incident and then arrested him on an unrelated warrant.

2700 block of San Jose
8:15 p.m.

A 26-year-old man was robbed by two gun-wielding goons on the Muni M-Oceanview light rail vehicle line, cops said. One of the crooks sat next to the victim and threatened him. The victim could see the other crook was also armed. They demanded he turn over his cellphone or be shot. The victim complied. The creeps fled the LRV at the next stop on foot.
