Holy Cross defeats Colgate 76-60 to snap skid 

Devin Brown scored 27 points and Holy Cross snapped a four-game losing streak with a 76-60 win over Colgate on Saturday night.

Phil Beans added 16 points and R.J. Evans had 11 while Eric Obeysekere grabbed 11 rebounds for the Crusaders (9-12, 3-4 Patriot League).

Holy Cross led 41-24 at halftime but the Red Raiders chipped away and pulled to within 53-50 after two free throws by Mitch Rolls with 9:37 remaining. But a 3-pointer by Brown capped a 13-5 surge as Holy Cross built a 66-55 lead with 4:41 to go.

Brown made five 3-pointers and was 6 of 7 from the free throw line as the Crusaders made 16 of 21 free throw attempts. Colgate attempted only 10 foul shots and made eight.

Rolls scored 14 and Mike Venezia added 13 for Colgate (6-15, 1-6), which has lost 10 of its past 11 games.
