Hit-and-run leaves man with life-threatening injuries 

A 30-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries in San Francisco late Wednesday after being struck by a car while walking at Van Ness Avenue and Broadway, police said.

The car, described as a black, newer-model, two-door Mercedes, sped off afterward, police said.

The hit-and-run occurred at about 10:50 p.m., police said.
