Hit-and-run driver leaves woman in life-threatening condition

A woman was hospitalized in life-threatening condition Saturday after she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run near the Western Addition, police said.

The woman was waiting to cross the street at the corner of O’Farrell and Divisadero streets around 8:45 p.m. when a white rental van made a right turn and hit her. Instead of stopping, the car drove away.

The woman suffered head trauma and internal injuries, and she is recovering at San Francisco General Hospital.

The van appeared to be from Budget Rent A Car, police said.
