Historic preservationists to mull Parkmerced plans 

City preservationists are scheduled to discuss post-World War II Parkmerced architectural heritage that could be jeopardized by plans to triple the number of apartments in the complex.

Many of the smaller stodgy buildings in the car-friendly complex are slated to be demolished and replaced with towers over the coming decades.

The San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss a draft environmental impact report that was published recently regarding the Parkmerced expansion plans.

The commission could provide comments and feedback in response to the report.
The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. at Room 400 in City Hall.
