Highway 101 lanes in San Mateo reopen after fatal motorcycle crash 

A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo has been cleared and lanes have reopened, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash was reported at 5:12 a.m. just south of Dore Avenue.

The CHP shut down three northbound lanes after the crash, and the lanes were reopened at about 7:15 a.m.

As of 7:30 a.m. traffic was still backed up in the area.
