High speed rail chief search continues

The California High Speed Rail Authority will provide an update to the search to replace the agency’s executive director, who is set to step down in March.

The agency’s executive director for the past 11 years, Mehdi Morshed, issued his resignation letter earlier this month. In the letter, he stated that “during the past 11 years, the project was declared dead many times. Annually we were prepared to close the office. Sometimes the objectives are so compelling and noble that it can survive numerous challenges and hardships.”

At the agency’s board meeting on Wednesday, CHSRA officials will provide information about the efforts to replace Morshed, including updates on scheduling, hiring a search firm, and materials being issued to candidates.
