Hearts beat again for San Francisco General Hospital 

Hearts in San Francisco: San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s seventh public-art fundraising event, featuring iconic heart sculptures created by 14 artists and displayed around The City, took place Thursday at AT&T Park. Proceeds from  the annual Heroes & Hearts luncheon — at which some of the hearts were auctioned — and the evening Hearts After Dark cocktail party support vital programs at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

Holiday gala helps cancer site

Valentine’s Day Ball: On Saturday, philanthropists Jillian Manus and Alan Salzman hosted their seventh annual Valentine’s Day Ball at their Atherton residence. The black-tie cocktail reception, dinner and dancing gala is a benefit for the Stanford Cancer Center.

Teenager earns leardship award

Youth of the Year Luncheon: At the fourth annual Charles Schwab Youth of the Year event Feb. 7 at the St. Francis Hotel, Esteffany Calderon, a senior at Leadership High School, received the 2012 honor, presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. Selected from a pool of eight finalists, Esteffany was recognized for her academic accomplishments, leadership, moral character and community service.
