Health officials respond to dialysis shortage 

Health officials felt obligated to take a minute from their regularly scheduled commission meeting to respond to an Examiner article on Tuesday that pointed out the dialysis shortage in San Francisco County. Sue Currin, CEO of the San Francisco General Hospital, assured commissioners that they had anticipated a shortage for years and that it was no surprise. The issue is resolved, she said, adding that they have no patients waiting for dialysis chairs anymore.
