Harbaugh OK with Seahawks blocking Niner fans from buying tickets

The Seahawks made headlines by banning California residents, among many other states, from buying tickets to Sunday’s NFC Championship Game in Seattle against the 49ers, but Niners coach Jim Harbaugh has no problem with it.

“It’s within the spirit of the rules of the National Football League,” Harbaugh said Monday. “I actually respect it.”

Secondary ticket sites, such as StubHub and NFL Ticket Exchange, will sell tickets to anyone.

Grandfather of Harbaugh brothers dies at 98: Joe Cipiti, the grandfather of NFL coaching brothers Jim and John Harbaugh, has died. He was 98. Cipiti died Sunday morning in Ohio. Jim Harbaugh will miss the memorial service Friday, “a bit of a crushing blow.”

Niners await MRI results on Tukuafu: Harbaugh said the 49ers are reviewing the MRI results on fullback Will Tukuafu’s injured left knee, but didn’t have an update.

“I’m encouraged how he’s moving around,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll have more information on that.” Tukuafu started but played just three snaps before he was injured against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
