Half Moon Bay rescue bill fails

A special $10 million rescue bill for Half Moon Bay authored by the Democratic state senator, who represents part of San Francisco and most of San Mateo County, has failed for the year and will be stalled at least several months.

City leaders will now be left to contemplate how they will start paying a $19 million settlement for the Beachwood property in June. SB 863 would have given the city $10 million in state parks-bond money to help pay off the property lawsuit.
