Group of thugs who forced entry into apartment busted by good neighbor

A neighbor helped cops catch three hoodlums Thursday who forced their way into a Bernal Heights apartment at gunpoint and ransacked the place, police said.

A 30-year-old man and two women, aged 24 and 33, were entering the front gate of the man’s apartment building in the 900 block of Tompkins Avenue around 11:45 p.m. when three men tried to force their way in behind them, cops said.

The man tried to close the door on the thugs but one pulled out a handgun and forced the victim to open his apartment door, police said. The three victims were told to get on the floor and give up their cash. Meanwhile, the thugs ransacked the place.

While chaos reigned in the victim’s apartment, a neighbor called police and the three thugs, described by police as black men aged 23, 29 and 32, were taken into custody.
