Group of thugs assault men in Chinatown restaurant, run over man in nearby parking lot

A group of men assaulted three other men in a Chinatown restaurant early Monday morning and then ran over one of the victims with a car after the fight spilled out into a nearby parking lot, police said.

The three victims were eating in a restaurant in the 600 block of Broadway about 2:30 a.m. when five other men, who all appeared to be in their 20s, came in and attacked the trio, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

The five thugs fled to a nearby parking lot, where the victims followed them and continued the fight.

At one point, one of the victims fell to the ground and was run over by the suspects' vehicle, Gatpandan said.

The car then fled and no arrests were made.

The victim was taken to a hospital for facial and neck fractures, but his injuries were not life-threatening, Gatpandan said.
